Hays Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in North Birmingham to recruit a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from September.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HLTA to contribute to a vibrant school community, bringing creativity, initiative, and a passion for supporting children’s learning.
Please note: Sponsorship and visa support are not available for this role. Applicants must have recent UK-based school experience and hold relevant HLTA qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver lessons in the absence of the class teacher
- Provide classroom support across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2
- Lead targeted 1:1 and small group interventions
- Support pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND)
- Assist with phonics, literacy, numeracy, and guided reading
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to support learning outcomes
- Contribute to behaviour management and pupil well-being
Candidate Requirements:
- HLTA status or equivalent Level 4/5 qualification
- Recent experience in UK primary school settings
- Strong understanding of the National Curriculum across the primary school key stages
- Confident in delivering lessons independently
- Adaptable, proactive, and passionate about working with children
- Experience across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 is preferred
- Willingness to support pupils with additional needs and personal care if required
