I am currently supporting a Rail company who is looking for a qualified and detail-driven Management Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. You’ll take ownership of head office and central cost reporting, support the monthly management accounts, and work closely with budget holders to provide meaningful analysis and reporting. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced business during a period of exciting growth and transformation.
Your new role
This role will work very closely with the other Management Accountants, and with the Financial Controller to ensure that all aspects of the company’s financial operations run smoothly. Key responsibilities will include:
- Prepare monthly and annual management accounts and provide commentary
- Assist the Financial Controller to deliver enhancements to the financial reporting in response to the needs of the directors and management team
- Assist in the design and implementation of improved financial processes and controls
- Key role in the annual statutory audit
- Perform detailed variance analysis against budget and prior year
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, focusing on accruals and prepayments
- Provide financial support and analysis for various projects and contracts, for both the Finance Controller and Finance Director
What you'll need to succeed
The client is seeking a Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with industry experience within the rail / transport sectors. They are open to candidates coming straight out of the Rail Graduate Schemes. You’ll have strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, as well as being highly organised, analytical and adaptable to changing priorities.
