1:1 Teaching Assistant Job | SEMH (KS2) | Immediate Start | Until Summer Term
Hays Education are working in partnership with a Specialist SEND School who are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 pupil with a diagnosis of FASD, ADHD, and a history of early trauma. This is a highly rewarding role where you will play a key part in supporting the pupil’s emotional development and engagement in school life.
The pupil is described as a delightful individual who benefits from a calm, consistent, and empathetic approach, alongside clear and firm boundaries to help them feel safe and understood.

Rate: Up to £120/day
Contract: Temporary until end of academic year
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing tailored 1:1 support throughout the school day
- Supporting the pupil with emotional regulation and behaviour
- Building a strong, trusting relationship
- Helping the pupil access learning in a way that meets their individual needs
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working within a KS2 setting
- A strong understanding of SEND, particularly SEMH and trauma-informed approaches
- A patient, resilient, and adaptable attitude
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Ability to provide a consistent and nurturing presence
- Relevant Teaching Assistant Qualification or equivalent experience
Please Note: Due to the rural location, a full driving license & own transport is essential.
