1:1 Teaching Assistant Job | SEMH (KS2) | Immediate Start | Until Summer Term

Hays Education are working in partnership with a Specialist SEND School who are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 pupil with a diagnosis of FASD, ADHD, and a history of early trauma. This is a highly rewarding role where you will play a key part in supporting the pupil’s emotional development and engagement in school life.

The pupil is described as a delightful individual who benefits from a calm, consistent, and empathetic approach, alongside clear and firm boundaries to help them feel safe and understood.

This school is a welcoming and supportive setting located in a scenic area, known for its inclusive approach and strong focus on pupil wellbeing. The school prides itself on creating a nurturing environment where every child is supported to reach their full potential, both academically and emotionally. Staff work collaboratively and there is a strong emphasis on consistency, structure, and positive relationships.

Location: Disley, SK12
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: Up to £120/day
Contract: Temporary until end of academic year

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Providing tailored 1:1 support throughout the school day
  • Supporting the pupil with emotional regulation and behaviour
  • Building a strong, trusting relationship
  • Helping the pupil access learning in a way that meets their individual needs

What We’re Looking For
  • Experience working within a KS2 setting
  • A strong understanding of SEND, particularly SEMH and trauma-informed approaches
  • A patient, resilient, and adaptable attitude
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Ability to provide a consistent and nurturing presence
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant Qualification or equivalent experience
