About the role:
We are currently working with a welcoming and supportive Ofsted rated “Good” primary school in Oldbury who are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a real impact by supporting SEN children in Lower Key Stage 2 through targeted interventions on a 1.1 and small group basis. SEN needs include moderate learning difficulties, behavioural support, communication, speech and language delays. No personal care required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering 1:1 and small group (up to 6 children) interventions across Year 3 and Year 4
- Supporting pupils with moderate learning difficulties, speech, language and communication delays and behavioural needs/issues
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning plans
- Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning
- Providing general classroom support when required
Requirements:
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification required (UK Recognised)
- Proven experience delivering intervention support in a primary school setting on a 1.1 and small group basis
- Strong understanding of SEND and effective behaviour management strategies and techniques
- Confident working independently and as part of a team
- A nurturing, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children’s learning
- Strong level of spoken and written English
- Strong understanding of Maths/Numeracy
