Maintenance Manager

Your new company

A leading pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation based in Wrexham, known for its cutting-edge facilities and commitment to quality, safety, and innovation. This site plays a key role in global production and is seeking a skilled Maintenance Manager to support its operations on a rolling 12-month fixed-term contract.

Your new role

As Maintenance Manager, you’ll report to the Maintenance & Reliability Director and lead a team of approximately 10 direct reports. You’ll be responsible for:
  • Overseeing the maintenance strategy for all process equipment
  • Leading troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and technical improvement initiatives
  • Managing internal and external service providers
  • Driving continuous improvement and reliability-centred maintenance practices
  • Ensuring compliance with GMP, EHS, and quality standards
  • Supporting CapEx projects and shutdown planning
  • Providing out-of-hours support when required
This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced, regulated environment, requiring close collaboration with production, engineering, procurement, and external vendors.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Time-served engineering qualification (Mechanical/Electrical/Refrigeration) with advanced apprenticeship or relevant degree
  • Proven experience in maintenance leadership within GMP-regulated environments
  • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing and utility systems
  • Excellent people management, communication, and organisational skills
  • Experience with SAP and operational excellence tools (Green Belt level desirable)
  • Ability to lead change, solve complex equipment issues, and drive performance
