Facilities Maintenance Technician | Aberdeen | Temporary Contract

Location: Aberdeen
Rate: £16.52 – £19.42 per hour DOE
Contract: Fixed term (26/01/2026 – 26/04/2026)

Overview
A leading workplace and facilities services provider is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to support operations at a confidential industrial site in the Aberdeen area.
The successful candidate will deliver a mix of planned and reactive maintenance across multiple buildings, industrial systems, and general facilities infrastructure. This role supports safe, efficient site operations through hands‑on technical work and general FM support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform reactive repairs, inspections, and general maintenance across buildings, equipment, and grounds.
  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and ensure work is completed to required standards.
  • Support maintenance of industrial systems, building fabric, and general facilities tasks.
  • Undertake basic mechanical, electrical, and multi‑skilled maintenance duties as required.
  • Follow established routines, work instructions, and quality expectations.
  • Maintain accurate work records using Microsoft Office tools.
  • Escalate faults or issues beyond the scope of the role.
  • Work safely and adhere to all Health & Safety procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and site contacts to support efficient operations.
Essential Skills & Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance, engineering support, or a similar technical role.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including:
    • Regular walking, standing, and stooping
    • Climbing stairs/ladders
    • Lifting/carrying 23kg (50 lbs) or more
  • Ability to follow structured work routines and established service standards.
  • Good communication skills for sharing straightforward information.
  • Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organisational skills and a proactive, inquisitive approach.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience working in industrial, technical, or multi‑building environments.
  • Basic mechanical or electrical understanding.
  • Prior experience within a facilities or engineering services team.
