Your new company

We are currently working on behalf of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council in recruiting for an experienced Team Manager to join their Youth Justice Service on an interim basis.

Your new role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Youth Justice Team Manager to lead a dynamic multidisciplinary team committed to improving outcomes for children and young people involved in the criminal justice system. This is a pivotal leadership role where you will drive service delivery, ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities, and champion restorative and trauma-informed approaches. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing the Youth Justice Team, providing supervision, guidance and support to staff
  • Overseeing the delivery of high quality assessments, interventions and court reports
  • Ensuring the service meets national standards and inspection frameworks
  • Taking a multi-agency approach, working with agencies such as the police, probation services, health providers and social care services
  • Monitoring team performance
  • Promoting safeguarding and risk management practice across all areas

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in the role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in youth justice
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in leadership and managing a team
  • An in-depth understanding of youth justice, legislation, policy and best practice
  • This role does require travel across Solihull, so it is essential you have access to a car with business insurance.

What you'll get in return

You will be paid a competitive hourly rate and have a guaranteed long-term, full-time role, with further opportunities for permanent opportunities. As a Hays contractor, you will have a dedicated consultant who will support you throughout the recruitment process as well as whilst you are at work. You will be given access to our training platform, where you can assign yourself to free online training to enhance your own skills.
