A well-regarded and community-focused housing provider in North Yorkshire is seeking an experienced and proactive Building Surveyor to join their Property Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across a varied and rural housing portfolio, covering areas such as Northallerton, Hambleton, Richmondshire, and surrounding communities.
The Role:
As a Building Surveyor, you’ll be responsible for delivering a wide range of surveying services, including property inspections, defect diagnosis, project management, and contract administration. You’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving the quality of homes for residents across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct building condition surveys and prepare detailed reports.
- Diagnose structural and maintenance issues and recommend solutions.
- Prepare specifications, schedules of work, and tender documentation.
- Oversee contractors and ensure works are delivered to quality, time, and budget standards.
- Support planned investment programmes and compliance with housing standards.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in building surveying, ideally within social housing or residential property.
- HNC/HND or degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of building pathology, construction methods, and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Full UK driving licence (essential due to rural travel).
