Your new role
In this role, you will be responsible for managing client bank accounts in accordance with ICAEW Client Money Regulations, ensuring compliance and accuracy at every step. Your key duties will include processing payments, monitoring account balances, performing reconciliations, and maintaining precise financial records.

Additionally, you will prepare client account documentation, raise fee notes, and provide essential support to both internal teams and clients, assisting with account-related queries.

The ideal candidate is highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple tasks with efficiency and accuracy. Prior experience in client account management or working with client money in a regulated environment would be advantageous.

What you'll need to succeed
Responsibilities:
  • Process payments from client bank accounts in line with ICAEW’s Client Money Regulations, ensuring due diligence and payment request screening.
  • Monitor account balances to ensure sufficient funds are maintained.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, updating transaction histories and internal financial records.
  • Open and close client accounts while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and completing necessary documentation.
  • Prepare and issue client account-related documents annually and as needed.
  • Generate quarterly fee notes for client account services across all clients.
  • Handle internal and external queries related to client accounts, resolving issues promptly and escalating complex matters to the Head of Compliance when required.
  • Conduct regular reviews of client accounts and support internal audits led by the Compliance Team.
  • Provide holiday cover for finance team members during their leave periods.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in managing client money accounts.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly in reporting and reconciliations.
  • Background in Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger within an internal finance team.
  • Experience with Basecone, Twinfield, and CCH software is desirable.
  • Knowledge of ICAEW’s Client Account Regulations is preferred.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage confidently with clients and internal stakeholders.
