JOB TITLE: Warehouse Administrator

JOB LOCATION: Peterborough
JOB TYPE: Permanent
JOB HOURS: 7am–7pm with 30 mins lunch working 4 days on, 4 days off

JOB SALARY: £25000 - £28000 depending on your experience

Your new company

Our client is a leader in ambient logistics management across the UK and Europe. They have a huge national network, and they give their clients flexible, cost-effective transport solutions. Existing staff love the work-life balance and culture, while others mention and, in particular, their Peterborough site is sparkly and new and very tech-driven. As a result of one of the team moving up and on in their career, they have asked Hays to help in finding them their new warehouse team superstar!

Your new role

In this job, you'll work what some call "compressed hours", so you work 7am to 7pm (with a lunch break) on a 4-days-on, 4-days-off rota.
This is a permanent job, but if you're not working at the moment and would like to temp in this job before you decide to stay permanently, that is an option too.

Here's an outline of some of the tasks you'll do in this job:-
  • Input and maintain accurate data in the warehouse management system, including product details, order statuses, and shipment information.
  • Booking in stock: Coordinate the receipt of goods, ensuring that paperwork is created, printed and sorted into delivery groups, check deliveries for accuracy, and generate labels for the inbound stock.
  • Liaising with suppliers, delivery drivers, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues.
  • Assisting with customer queries related to order status, stock availability, and delivery details.
  • Sorting out any discrepancies or issues with orders, stock, or deliveries in a timely manner.
  • Create and process customer orders.
  • Create an outbound stock schedule for the warehouse teams to ensure that loads are organised and depart on time.
  • Raise outbound delivery notes
  • Create and print off labels for the warehouse
  • Issue reference numbers for any container bookings

What you'll need to succeed

Our client is looking for an experienced administrator who can demonstrate commitment and loyalty in their previous jobs. You'll need to have office experience and be good with computers (although full training will be given on their in-house system).

Previous experience in stock / warehouse / logistics will mean that your application will be fast-tracked.
PLEASE NOTE: there is no public transport to get to this site, so you'll need a car to get there. There's also no home working; this job is 100% working in the office.

What you'll get in return

Our client is really proud of their supportive and development-focussed culture, and they take your job satisfaction very seriously.

The manager of this team likes to empower people to get on with the job that they need to do, so he doesn't micromanage anyone, but there's a good sense of camaraderie in the team, so you'll never feel like you're on your own.
The offices are modern and spotless, so if you're sick of working in a grubby little cabin, you won't believe your eyes when you see this place!

Working 4 on, 4 off will give you loads of flexibility for long weekends and quality time with friends and family.
