Your new role

As Senior Despatch Supervisor, you will play a critical role in leading a 12-hour operation within a fast-paced FMCG distribution centre. You will oversee the end-to-end pick and despatch process, ensuring customer orders are fulfilled accurately, efficiently, and in full compliance with company policies and quality standards. You will manage a shift team of up to 15 staff during the day or 7 staff overnight, including area leaders, warehouse operatives, drivers, and administrative personnel. Success in this role requires strong coordination across multiple departments and sites, ensuring smooth and timely communication to support operational excellence. You will be responsible for supervising daily activities, maintaining stock accuracy, ensuring audit-ready documentation, and fostering a positive working environment. The role also involves monitoring performance, leading team briefings, and ensuring all vehicles and equipment are safe and fit for purpose.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful, you will have experience within an FMCG environment and at least two years of people management experience. You will demonstrate strong skills in stock control, working to tight deadlines, and IT literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office. Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills are essential, along with previous experience with HACCP or a qualification in this area. Desirable skills include a third-level qualification, knowledge of food processing within FMCG, and experience with AX, Zetas, or similar systems.
