Warehouse Manager, Glasgow, £45,000

Our client is one of the UK's leading providers in their industry, supplying over 10,000 different product lines to their customers throughout the UK.


Your new role

Manage the warehouse team to ensure all goods are unloaded and replenished, correctly checked and located. Ensure company assets in the warehouse (cages, pallets, stock) are controlled and accounted for at all times in line with budget. Manage employee and equipment deployment to maximise shift efficiency, both directly and through your supervisory team. Ensure that good management practice and all processes are followed in order to ensure the health and safety of our employees and customers. Ensure that the department operates in compliance with all company audit and legal standards, including Food Safety, Health & Safety, customer and internal audits. Process payroll payments, including bonus payments, accurately and on time. Review operator performance to ensure targets are met for goods in, put away and replenishment. Manage the team of team managers, Co-ordinators, Midshift Team Manager and warehouse operatives and ensure appraisals, people management and conduct issues are dealt with. Manage the picking of routes, customers and inter-depot deliveries requiring despatch during your hours of work.

What you'll need to succeed

Experience of a fast-moving food distribution environment or a similar background. Effective planning and communication skills. Experience of working effectively within a team to provide customer service internally and externally. Evidence of effective people management and resources. Ability to complete investigations into performance issues / stock loss / conduct. Quick problem-solving capabilities and ability to adapt and change at very short notice to meet demands. Cost controls and change management;

What you'll get in return

This is a Monday – Friday position from 0700 to 1600 with an annual salary of £45,000. They offer 34 days of annual leave, death in service and match up to 6% in your company pension. Private dental and health care are offered too.
