Temporary Housing Officer – Lettings – Minimum 2 months – Norwich – Up to £23 per hour

Your new role
- Carrying out tenancy sign-ups, mutual exchange assignments, and mid‑tenancy inspections in line with legislation and policy.
- Completing thorough void property inspections, agreeing to any required remedial works, and case managing the void process to minimise turnaround time.
- Advertising properties through a choice‑based lettings system and engaging proactively with prospective tenants.
- Managing a varied caseload including new tenants, voids, transfers, garages, and tenancy related enquiries.
- Liaising with contractors, internal teams, and partner agencies to ensure safe, compliant, and well maintained homes.
- Reporting repairs, health and safety issues, safeguarding concerns, and wider estate related matters.
- Supporting resident groups and contributing to neighbourhood improvements.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in a housing related role, ideally within lettings, tenancy management or a similar environment.
- Strong practical experience in tenancy sign-ups and conducting void, pre‑leave or mutual exchange inspections (essential emphasis).
- A solid understanding of social housing, tenant rights and responsibilities, and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work empathetically with diverse communities.
- Strong organisational and case management skills, with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
- Confidence in working with contractors and partner agencies to resolve property related issues.
- Good IT skills and the ability to learn new systems.
- A proactive, customer focused mindset with the ability to use initiative and professional judgement.
