Job Overview:
Customer Engineers work on-site in Derby supporting a device deployment clinic, responsible for setting up and managing the deployment area each day, including arranging equipment, materials, and signage, and ensuring everything is packed away securely at the end of the day. The role involves distributing computers to customers, logging asset assignments accurately, answering questions related to hardware, software, data transfer, and the migration process, and providing basic technical assistance to support a smooth transition to new devices. Engineers will also track daily deployment activity, manage equipment changes if devices fail, and ensure all assets and old equipment are fully accounted for, locked away, and documented at close of business.

Rate: PAYE – £14.90/hr (Basic) or UMB – £19.34/hr (Under IR35)
Start/End Date: 05-May-2026 to 29- May-2026
Work Schedule: Mon–Fri 09:00–17:30
Key Responsibilities
- Customer engineers on-site in Derby to support the deployment clinic.
- Lay out the deployment area – including computers, pens, paperwork, signs, etc. every morning and clean it up every evening.
- Distribute computers to customers and ask for questions
- Ensure that we have a log of which computer went to which person (it may change if a computer fails before they leave)
- Be prepared to answer questions regarding hardware, software, data transfer, or the process for moving to the new computer.
- Provide basic computer assistance as much as they are able for the transition.
- Track the days deployments
- Wrap up at end of day – make sure all equipment is locked up, all asset information is captured, all old equipment is accounted for, etc.
