Technician 2 (Contract) – Glasglow | Leading Aerospace & Engineering Project

Join a leading independent technology and services provider as a Technician 2.

Job Overview:
Seeking an on-site IT support resource in Glasglow to assist with laptop deployments. The role involves configuring devices, updating asset records, and supporting users during setup.

  • Location:Glasglow
  • Contract: 8th Dec’25-31st Dec’25
  • Pay Rates:
  • Umbrella Rate:£18.87/hour (via a Hays approved umbrella company).
  • PAYE Basic Rate:£14.54/hour
  • Hours:37.5 hours a week. Monday – Friday.
  • Time:9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Job Purpose:Support laptop deployments on a customer site, following provided documentation and assess management procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review the Inventox custom scheduling software for users arriving that day for deployment
  • Print schedules and any related documents for arriving users, pairing them with relevant “how-to” guides.
  • Organise paperwork into folders for the day of arrival; spread them out in the morning for users to collect by name.
  • Lay out the deployment area each morning with computers, pens, paperwork, signs, etc., and clean up every evening.
  • Provide assurance to customers regarding the exact start time of the deployment meeting and remind them to attend attentively.
  • Conduct deployment meetings with groups receiving computers that day and explain the process
  • Distribute computers to customers and address any questions they may have
  • Maintain a log of which computer is assigned to each person (adjust if a computer fails before departure)
  • Be prepared to answer questions related to hardware, software, data transfer, or the transition process.
  • Provide basic computer assistance to support users during the transition
  • Remind customers that they cannot take their old computer with them (communicate firmly but kindly)
  • Track daily deployments, ensuring two cycles are completed – AM and PM
  • Wrap up at the end of the day by locking up equipment, capturing asset information, and accounting for all old equipment
