Contract Opportunity – Installation Technician – Birmingham


Join a leading independent technology and services provider as an Installation Technician!
Job Overview:
This role involves providing on-site desktop hardware installation services, including unboxing, installing, and configuring devices and peripherals. You'll ensure accurate setup, perform power-on tests, and complete basic automated build processes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands‑on technical skills who enjoys structured procedures and on-site work.

  • Location: On-site – 3 Snow Hill Queensway, Birmingham B4 6GA
  • Daily Rate: £13.66 PAYE per hour / £17.73 per hour via umbrella
  • Contract Length: ASAP– 31 Mar 2026
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Full UK Manual Driver’s license is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Unbox, install, and set up desktop hardware and peripherals
  • Connect power, network, and other relevant cables
  • Perform power-on self-tests and initiate automated system builds
  • Complete simple scripted post-login configurations
  • Maintain accurate system records, primarily on ServiceNow
  • Follow all procedures, scripts, and company policies
  • Work a 4‑day week (Tuesday–Friday) with flexibility when required

Key Requirements:
  • Basic technical skills in hardware installation and configuration
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured procedures
  • Experience maintaining system records (e.g., ServiceNow)
  • Flexibility to work variable shift patterns when needed
  • Reliability and professionalism in on-site customer environments
