Permanent planner job in Norwich for Tier 1 contractor

Our client is a tier 1 contractor with a strong presence and pipeline of works across the East of England. Specialising in commercial projects across the community, they pride themselves on excellence.

Your new role

They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced planner to join their team in Norwich. As a Planner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of their construction projects. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, coordinating resources, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules that detail tasks, milestones, and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with construction teams on-site and other relevant professionals.
  • Monitor project timelines and adjust plans as necessary to ensure timely completion.
  • Identify areas for improvement and recommend strategies for cost reduction.
  • Work closely with the Project Director or Project Manager to strategically plan and schedule major projects.
  • Conduct risk analysis and prepare contingency plans to address potential issues.
  • Communicate goals, deadlines, and progress updates to all stakeholders.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Planning, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a planning or project management role within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in planning software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing project requirements.
