Job Role – Delivery Driver II - Loughborough

We are seeking an experienced Delivery Driver II to support the safe and timely delivery and collection of company products from customers and suppliers locations. The role involves route planning, vehicle checks, customer interaction, compliance with transport regulations, and safe handling of goods, including hazardous materials where applicable.

Location: Loughborough – Bishop Meadow Road (On-site)

Contract Duration: 6 Months

Hours: 40.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, approximately 4:00 AM – 2:00 PM (hours may vary)

Pay Rate: £16.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and report defects.
  • Deliver and collect company goods from customers and suppliers.
  • Plan and manage delivery routes to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Complete loading, delivery, and collection documentation accurately.
  • Adhere to transport regulations, including the Highway Code, driving hours, and ADR. requirements.
  • Sort parcels by route and delivery sequence.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping within vehicles.
  • Support route development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate empty chemical bottle collections from customers.
  • Follow safe working practices when handling goods, equipment, and hazardous substances.
  • Maintain professional relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Participate in Process Performance Improvement (PPI) activities.

Essential Requirements

  • Clean, current Class C and C1 driving licence .
  • Previous experience as a Delivery Driver .
  • ADR / Dangerous Goods experience.
  • Physically fit and able to lift and move loads up to 25kg.
  • Ability to carry out daily vehicle safety checks.
  • Flexible to adapt to route changes and occasional overnight stays.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

Desirable Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months' multi-drop delivery experience.
  • ADR vocational licence.
  • Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
  • Experience operating across multiple delivery routes.
