Your new company

This logistics company provides logistics services including road and rail transport, warehousing, and terminal management across Scotland and has been established for a number of years and works with some very prestigious clients in the industry. The Company provides integrated third-party logistics solutions including bonded and non-bonded warehousing and supply chain management to a number of blue-chip customers across Scotland and England.

Your new role

This role is ideally suited to an individual with a keen interest in transport and distribution who can demonstrate a proven record of effective and efficient transport planning within a national busy fleet operation. Ensure safe, legal and effective planning and running of a fleet of vehicles and drivers. Plan inbound and outbound deliveries and collections to ensure that customer service is achieved. Develop and maintain excellent communication channels with all relevant depots to ensure an effective support network and continuity across depots. Accurately input manual customer orders into the system. Maintain regular communication channels with drivers throughout the shift and identify any issues that may affect the agreed delivery time. Communicate any issues that may affect the agreed delivery time to relevant customers through the established channels. Remain focused on providing an excellent level of customer service.


What you'll need to succeed

Container traffic planning experience with previous experience using transport systems; RoadRunner would be preferred but not essential. The ability to communicate effectively at all levels when dealing with managers, drivers and customers. Excellent customer service skills with sound geographical knowledge. The ability to prioritise your own workload based on the changes that occur to planned routes. A good working knowledge of current computer programmes such as Word, Excel, Outlook. The ability to maintain a high level of performance whilst working under pressure.

What you'll get in return

A competitive salary dependent upon experience is offered. This is a Monday - Friday position where you will work 1 week, 0530-1430, 1 week, 0800-1870 and 1 week, 1000-1900. Reasonable flexibility is expected in order to meet the requirements of the business, particularly at peak operational periods.
