Transport Planner, Paisley, £32,500-£33,000

Your new company

This logistics company provides logistics services including road and rail transport, warehousing, and terminal management across Scotland and has been established for a number of years and works with some very prestigious clients in the industry. The Company provides integrated third-party logistics solutions including bonded and non-bonded warehousing and supply chain management to a number of blue-chip customers across Scotland and England.

Your new role

This role is ideally suited to an individual with a keen interest in transport and distribution who can demonstrate a proven record of effective and efficient transport planning within a busy national fleet operation. As a planner, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive first-class service while maintaining cost-effectiveness. Your expertise will contribute to the smooth operation of our national fleet, making a real impact every day. Main areas of responsibility will include: Providing quick and efficient service to our customers across the business. Oversee day-to-day fleet planning and prioritising workload and plan routes for our three biggest customers. Daily driver brief and de-brief. Track tachographs to maintain safety and regulatory standards. Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments to streamline operations

What you'll need to succeed

Good geographical knowledge of the UK as this role will be dealing with trunking down South and looking for candidates who have been dealing with distance work. Knowledge and understanding of Driver’s Working Time Regulations and Driver’s CPC legislation. An effective team player with excellent organisational skills. Good IT skills and exposure to route planning software or equivalent. Transport planning experience is a must for this vacancy. The successful candidate will demonstrate a clear understanding of the priorities of organising and running commercial traffic, a keen eye for detail and accuracy, the ability to learn quickly, professional confidence and clear communication skills, together with a familiarity of common computer packages, i.e. Microsoft Office or equivalent. Previous experience with Road Runner or similar route planning software is preferable.
