New Management Accountant job vacancy in Norwich

Hays are working in partnership with a well-established and highly reputable construction company based just outside of Norwich. This company has been expanding sustainably and, as a result, the finance function is also now expanding. They boast a positive, fast-paced and team-orientated environment and are now seeking a new Management Accountant to join their already strong finance team.
Your new role
- Producing monthly Management Accounts
- Supporting the budgeting and forecasting process
- Updating and monitoring overhead costs
- Intercompany cost reconciliations
- Month end journals and balance sheet reconciliations
- Data analysis and reconciliation using Microsoft Excel
- Raising Client Invoices and issuing to Surveyors
- Prepayments/Accruals
- Assistance with year-end audit
- Supporting the other members of the accounting team to ensure accuracy and integrity over the following tasks:
- Subcontract Certification/Payment processing
- Preparation of VAT returns
- Preparation of CIS returns
- Online banking – Approving CHAPS/BACS payments
- Processing Expenses
- Bank reconciliations
- Cash book postings
This is a full-time role, working 40 hours a week between Monday and Friday.
What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally be a qualified accountant, with prior experience in a similar monthly reporting capacity. Ideally, you will have some leadership or supervisory experience, but this is not essential. Experience using Sage and also within the construction industry is advantageous but not essential. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders. You will have a good balance of regulatory compliance knowledge and commercial cash management exposure.
