Job Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the effective running of the Finance function by producing meaningful information to support decision-making.
- Ensure the business complies with all statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Create a strong control environment within the finance team, embedding effective processes and procedures.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, providing accurate and meaningful information on the P&L, cash flow, balance sheet, and variance analysis.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts, providing commentary on reconciling items.
- Maintain quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Support the Financial Controller with the year-end process, producing financial statements and acting as a key point of contact for the audit team.
- Contribute to the annual budgeting and planning process.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, preparing regulatory returns for FCA and HMRC.
- Review and improve accounting processes and practices to ensure efficient financial operations.
- Assist the Financial Controller with projects, ensuring all aspects of Finance requirements are considered and costs are controlled.
What You Need:
- Qualified or part-qualified accountancy qualification
- Proven experience working with financial and regulatory reporting.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Experience with the year-end process, including statutory account production and audit requirements.
- Clear communication skills at all levels, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to balance competing priorities and prioritise work effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel skills.
