Your new role
In your new role, you'll be responsible for the following:Accounting Services: Perform comprehensive accounting tasks for a diverse range of corporate and charitable organisations, ensuring adherence to both firm and statutory procedures. This includes planning, executing, completing, and delivering client-ready products with minimal supervision.
Financial Reporting: Prepare management accounts and statutory financial reports, including consolidated accounts, from both manual and computerised accounting records.
VAT Returns: Prepare and review VAT returns, with a thorough understanding of partial exemption rules.
Team Supervision: Delegate, supervise, and review the work of junior team members, providing constructive feedback and support as needed.
Client Assistance: Offer general accounting services and support to clients in preparing accounts and VAT returns, such as creating working papers for management or statutory accounts.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in your role, you'll ideally possess the following skills and experience:
- Professional Experience:3+ years of experience working in a practice environment.
- Accounting Expertise: Proven experience in preparing statutory and management accounts.
- VAT Knowledge: Skilled in VAT registrations and preparation of VAT returns.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication abilities.
- Client Interaction: Experience in client-facing roles.
- Qualifications: AAT qualified or ACCA part-qualified, or equivalent.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with UK GAAP, particularly FRS102 and FRS105.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with QuickBooks Online and Xero.
- Cloud Accounting: Ideally, experience of implementing cloud-based accounting software.
