A fantastic opportunity for an experienced planner to join a property development team in Manchester!

Providing strategic property and commercial real estate support working across new build, residential, industrial and other sectors.


Your New Company:
An established business with a reputation for delivering first-class projects to an enviable range of clients. You will work on projects from tender through to completion, and you will manage all aspects of the planning, programming and reporting.

You will play an integral part in ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget and work with a range of internal and external stakeholders across the business.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for devising and implementing the planning program for all active sites
  • Oversee all aspects of the planning strategy including pre-application, consultation and stakeholder engagement
  • Work with colleagues and partners to ensure viable developments are delivered
  • Co-ordinate and manage multidisciplinary project teams
  • Prepare all planning applications and planning appeals
  • Prepare and undertake commercial and planning appraisals for prospective sites and make recommendations for investment
  • Point of contact for local authorities and statutory consultees
  • Provide planning advice and work with colleagues, partners and stakeholders to manage risk pre-start and during each phase of the project

    Key Requirements:
  • Ideally, you will be a Chartered planner.
  • As a minimum, you must be degree-qualified with at least 3 years’ experience as a planner within a Local Planning Authority, Consultancy or Developer.
  • Excellent knowledge of the planning system and development processes
  • Experience with Pre-Construction
  • Ability to interpret drawings & produce material take-offs/scheduling
  • Ability to understand regulatory requirements
  • Able to communicate and negotiate effectively across all areas of business, both verbal and written
  • Highly self-motivated and able to prioritise and manage your own workload
  • Experience of attending and speaking at planning committee meetings
  • Be able to implement the requirements of subcontractors
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety files/Plans preferable
