Appointed Person – Lifting Operations
HOURS:40 Hours
LOCATION: Manchester (UK Wide travel and some overnight stays required)
SALARY: £40,000 - £48,000 plus benefits

Our client has nearly 100,000 members of staff across over a 100 office locations and thousands of customers and services offered across the country.
Your new role
- Take full ownership of ensuring that lifting operations are planned and executed safely, efficiently and in line with legislation and industry best practice.
- Plan lifting operations from end to end, ensuring correct sequencing and safe execution.
- Produce detailed
risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for each lifting activity. - Select suitable lifting equipment, materials and competent personnel for each lift.
- Supervise and monitor lifting activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations at all stages.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience as an Appointed Person, including producing lift plans and risk assessments.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to liaise across multiple teams.
- Ability to manage multiple lifting operations simultaneously while maintaining high safety standards.
- Proactive, solution‑focused mindset with strong organisational capability.
- Experience in industrial or telecoms lifting operations environments.
- Demonstrable understanding of lifting legislation and industry practice (e.g., LOLER, BS 7121).
- Confident decision‑maker with a strong sense of accountability.
- Clear and professional communicator with excellent stakeholder‑management skills.
- Highly organised, with an ability to plan, coordinate and oversee multiple operations.
- Proactive approach to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
