Electrical Technician

Your new company

Are a higher education provider in Cambridge that are looking to expand their estates division. They have an immaculate local reputation and have great staff retention.

Your new role

A large part of your role will be; Breakdowns and Preventative Maintenance:
  • Investigate reported operational problems on services and plant.
  • Carry out routine maintenance based on pre-set work instructions.
  • Liaise with Departmental/Building personnel regarding reported faults and their impact on operations.
  • Assess problems, diagnose faults, and test plant if necessary.
  • Inspect and service plant according to Maintenance Unit/manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Report to the Electrical Supervisor for remedial action.
  • Obtain materials through Maintenance Unit stores and implement repairs.
  • Communicate job completion and follow-up observations to Departmental/Building staff.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping of job details.
  • Assist with material booking and reinstatement of plant to full working order.
  • Report additional support needs to the Electrical Supervisor for specialist contractors or manufacturer’s representatives as required.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to succeed in this position you will be required to have experience in a similar position as well as a recognised electrical qualification. As well as the willingness to work well independently as well as part of a team.

What you'll get in return

If successful, you will receive a salary of circa £30,000, with incremental yearly pay rises including 36 days of annual leave, inclusive of bank holidays, as well as a fantastic pension.
