Job Overview:
The Migration Support Technician plays a crucial role in the setup and execution of a device refresh project. The role requires SC Clearance and involves assisting with the movement, deployment, and tracking of IT devices as part of a migration schedule. The technician will work closely with engineers and site managers to ensure seamless device handovers, system updates, and stock control.
Key Responsibilities:
•Set up the Refresh Clinic for migration activities.
•Transfer the required quantity of devices from the onsite storage location to the Refresh Clinic.
•Log in to systems using devices provided by the contractor's engineer and site manager.
•Conduct laptop refresh activities, ensuring devices are configured as required.
•Collect and hand over the correct number of new and existing devices according to the migration schedule and project processes.
•Accurately update the Contractor's workflow management system at all relevant steps.
•Report migration issues promptly and escalate unresolved issues to the Post-Migration Technical Support Engineer.
•Perform daily stock checks and report findings to the Contractor Engineer and Site Manager.
•Correctly label collected devices for either disposal or refurbishment, following the Device Designation Rules.
•Secure all devices in the onsite storage location at the end of each day.
Requirements:
•Active SC Clearance (Security Clearance).
•Experience in IT migration, device deployment, and stock control.
•Familiarity with workflow management systems and reporting tools.
•Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured migration processes.
•Effective communication and coordination skills with engineers and site managers.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
