Your new role
As a Service Support Engineer at the organisation, you will lead work priorities set by the Service and Support Lead, developing work plans to enhance organisational service delivery. You will provide detailed desktop solutions, oversee desktop operating system upgrades, and offer technical support for end-user systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
What you'll need to succeed
- Demonstrated expertise in end-user device systems engineering and a keen awareness of emerging technologies for integration into council projects.
- Proven experience in resolving incidents, managing service requests efficiently, and collaborating with third-party vendors within agreed SLAs.
- Strong proficiency in proactive maintenance work, ensuring end-user devices are updated with the latest patches and software.
- Ability to provide technical guidance to colleagues, enhance their technical skills, and deliver first and second line technical support effectively.
- Experience in maintaining accurate asset registers, testing changes to hardware and software, and documenting technical procedures.
- Proficient in managing IT devices, ensuring encryption, and safeguarding against malware using management tools.
