Your new role

As a maths teacher, you will play a crucial role in shaping students’ understanding of mathematical concepts. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Teaching and Learning:
    • Plan and prepare effective lessons based on the school’s curriculum and schemes of work.
    • Deliver engaging and motivating lessons that inspire students and improve their attainment.
    • Ensure students acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and understanding of mathematics.
  2. Assessment and Reporting:
    • Lead, monitor, and evaluate assessment and feedback to students in line with school policies.
    • Provide written and verbal feedback to students.
    • Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and development.
  3. School Culture:
    • Actively promote the academy’s values and ethos.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, practices, and procedures.
    • Engage in student welfare and support.
  4. Communication:
    • Communicate effectively with parents as appropriate.
    • Cooperate with external parties when necessary.
    • Participate in school events such as Open Evenings and Parents’ Evenings.
What you'll need to succeed

-Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant discipline.
-Confident in delivering a topic/subject to a group.
-Ability to relate well to children and adults.
-Be enthusiastic when delivering lessons to children.
-Good communication, team work and organisational skills.
-Knowledge of health & safety.
-Able to take instructions and willing to learn.
