Warrington. SEMH resource provision KS3. Long-term full-time temporary contract starting September.

Your new company

Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a Warrington-based high school as they are looking to appoint a motivated, reliable and fully qualified teaching assistant to support pupils within KS3 resource provision. This is an extremely welcoming and supportive school that offers resource provision to pupils with SEMH (social emotional mental health). This is a full-time long-term contract (32.5 hours per week) starting in September.

Your new role

As a teaching assistant within this school, you will be working with a specialist SEMH resource provision, offering holistic support to KS3 pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis. You will work alongside the class teacher and other colleagues to offer a stimulating and engaging learning environment for your new pupils but taking a pupil-centred approach to their education, and utilising an array of learning materials. You will break down learning material for your pupils and deliver it in a fun manner by relating material to pupils' key interests, aiding you to build strong constructive relationships and promote engagement. As you will be supporting SEMH, you will be required to closely monitor your pupils' behaviours and triggers, implementing positive behaviour strategies that pupils best respond to which will in turn ensure that any escalations occur in a safe environment. All behaviour strategies and academic interventions will reflect EHCP requirements, and you will regularly liaise with the class teacher and SENCO on pupil progress.

To be considered in your application you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as an NVQ Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification, as well as:

  • Be able to commit to a long-term full-time contract
