Primary School Teaching Assistant
Cheltenham & Gloucester | Full-time / Part-time | Immediate & September Starts

Are you a caring, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a primary school setting? We are working with welcoming and supportive primary schools in Cheltenham and Gloucester who are seeking dedicated TAs to support pupils across the school.

The Role:
As a Primary School Teaching Assistant, you will:
  • Support pupils on a one-to-one basis, in small groups, or within the classroom
  • Assist teaching and learning across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2
  • Help deliver engaging lessons, including phonics, literacy and numeracy
  • Support pupils with additional needs (SEND, SEMH or EAL where required)
  • Promote a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Work closely with class teachers and other support staff

✅ Key Stages:
We are recruiting Teaching Assistants to work across:
  • EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage)
  • Key Stage 1 (Years 1–2)
  • Key Stage 2 (Years 3–6)

Experience in any of the above is welcome.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Experience working with primary-aged children (school or childcare setting)
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred but not essential)
  • Knowledge of the UK primary curriculum
  • A patient, nurturing and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A current DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • A passion for supporting children’s learning and development
