Your new school
This central Bristol school is looking for a dedicated hard-working Teaching Assistant with previous experience working with SEND children. This school prides itself on its responsibility, achievement and respect for staff and students alike. They want to make a difference in young people’s lives both emotionally and educationally, as this school wants the best for its pupils. You will be surrounded by a staff that share the same values for learning and will be there to help navigate a new school. This school is located along a public transport route, and also has a car park.
Your new role
Within this new role, you will supervise and provide support for a particular child with special educational needs, assisting the child with everyday tasks both in and outside the classroom and on a one-to-one basis. You will be assisting with the development of their EHCP (educational healthcare plan) and establish a relationship with this child as you will be their key person. Also, completing handovers and giving parents a rundown of the achievements of the school day. You will need to have a strong empathetic approach and be kind and caring.
Requirements to succeed in your new role
- Teaching Assistant experience within the last two years
- Two working references from your most recent jobs that apply relevance to the position
- Previous experience with young children is desirable
