Hays is delighted to be supporting a Secondary School in central Wiltshire in the recruitment of a part‑time Teacher of Science (0.6 FTE) . This is a long‑term temporary position , with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. Your new role

As a Teacher of Science , you will deliver engaging and well‑structured lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 , following the school’s curriculum and schemes of work. You will plan, assess and monitor student progress, using assessment effectively to support learning and achievement. Working as part of a collaborative Science department, you will contribute to curriculum development and share resources and teaching strategies with colleagues. Effective classroom practice, high expectations and positive behaviour management are key aspects of the role. You will also contribute to the wider life of the secondary school and support students’ academic and personal development.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this Science Teacher job , you will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have the right to work in the UK . You will have experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting , with strong subject knowledge and the ability to engage learners of varying abilities. An Enhanced DBS check , or willingness to obtain one, is required in line with safeguarding guidelines. You will be a reflective practitioner with good organisational skills and a commitment to high standards of teaching and learning. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are strongly encouraged to apply , as the school offers structured support, mentoring and access to ongoing professional development.
