Teacher of Science - Secondary School - London - HAYS Education

Your new company

Hays Education is working in partnership with a successful and inclusive secondary school in London to recruit a passionate and committed Teacher of Science. This role is suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) as well as experienced teachers looking to join a supportive and forward-thinking science department.
The successful candidate will teach Science across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to specialise in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics at KS5, depending on experience and expertise.

Your new role

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective Science lessons
  • Teach across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
  • Inspire curiosity and enthusiasm for scientific learning
  • Monitor, assess, and support student progress
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom practice
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and child protection policies

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK or equivalent
  • Strong subject knowledge in Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
  • The ability to motivate and challenge learners of all abilities
  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
  • ECTs are encouraged to apply and will receive excellent support
