A secondary school based in Preston is looking for a full-time English teacher to join our team in September 2024. .
About the roleAs an English teacher, you will be responsible for:
- Planning, preparing and delivering engaging and effective lessons that meet the needs and abilities of all learners.
- Assessing, recording and reporting on the progress and attainment of students
- Providing feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their skills and confidence
- Contributing to the development of the English curriculum and departmental policies
- Collaborating with other teachers and staff to share best practices and support the school’s vision and ethos
- Participating in professional development activities and meetings
About you
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A relevant degree and a qualified teacher status (QTS)
- Experience of teaching English at KS3 and KS4 level
- A passion for the English language and literature and a desire to inspire students
- Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
- A willingness to contribute to the extracurricular activities of the school
