Teacher of English job – January start
English Teacher Job – Leicester
- Start date: 5th January 2026
- End date: July 2026
- Full-time and long-term role
We are working in partnership with an Ofsted ‘Good’ 11-16 secondary school in Leicester who are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of English to provide long-term cover from January until the end of the academic year. There is a possibility to go temp to perm for the right candidate. Due to this being a long-term job, full teaching responsibilities will be required, including planning and marking.

- Delivering engaging and creative English lessons at KS3 & KS4.
- Planning and preparing schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments.
- Monitoring student progress and providing feedback.
- Contributing to the development of the department’s curriculum.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. ECT's welcome to apply.
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
- Experience of teaching English across years 7–11
- At least 2 years’ experience of teaching in a UK school
- Strong behaviour/classroom management.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members
