Are you a highly experienced Key Stage 2 teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity in a high-performing, community-focused school?
Hays Education are proud to be working in partnership with an Ofsted-rated Outstanding school in Doncaster to recruit a skilled and confident Year 5 Class Teacher to cover a maternity leave from February to July 2026. This role is ideal for a teacher with substantial KS2 experience who thrives in a well‑resourced, forward-thinking environment.

The Role
  • Full-time teaching responsibility for a Year 5 class, including planning, preparation and assessment (PPA)
  • Delivering engaging, high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Making effective use of the school’s strong resource base to enhance learning
  • Supporting the wider school community through extracurricular activities and school trips
  • Contributing to a collaborative and reflective teaching team
  • Using personal reflection to ensure pupils are given every opportunity to extend their learning
  • Modelling positive behaviours at all times
  • Embracing the school’s strong sense of community, where staff contribution is valued and appreciated
✅ Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a PGCE – this role is not suitable for unqualified teachers
  • Significant classroom experience in Key Stage 2 – not suitable for ECTs
  • A proven ability to deliver high standards of teaching and learning
  • A proactive, flexible and enthusiastic approach to school life
  • Willingness to complete a full compliance process, including DBS checks
