I’m supporting a lovely primary school in the LS17 area who are looking for an enthusiastic and confident Year 5 Teacher to step into an immediate sickness cover role. This is a great opportunity for an experienced practitioner who enjoys the pace, independence and character of upper Key Stage 2.
The school is friendly, well‑organised and welcoming, with a committed staff team and a settled cohort who respond well to clear routines and engaging teaching. You’ll be joining a supportive environment where teamwork is valued, and where you’ll have the flexibility to bring your own ideas and teaching style into the classroom.
The Role
- Teaching a vibrant and capable Year 5 class
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons that challenge pupils and promote independence
- Supporting children in preparation for the move to Year 6
- Working collaboratively with the KS2 team to maintain consistency in curriculum delivery
- Providing a calm, structured and positive learning environment
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Proven experience teaching KS2, ideally Upper KS2
- Strong behaviour management and the ability to build rapport quickly
- Someone who is adaptable, proactive and confident stepping into an ongoing cover role
- A teacher who brings energy, creativity and clear expectations
