Deepen your higher-end corporate tax advisory experience with a leading Merseyside firm in St. Helens

Your new company

Our client is an independent firm based in Merseyside which specialises in delivering tax compliance and high-value tax advisory services to ambitious businesses across the UK. The firm is renowned for its technical excellence, commercial insight, and a commitment to client success, working with a wide range of SMEs and corporate clients, including large privately owned groups and fast-growing mid-market businesses.

Your new role

We’re seeking a technically strong and commercially minded Tax Senior with a mixed personal and corporate tax background, to manage the more complex, higher-end tax work including group restructures, corporate reorganisations, and large capital allowances claims. There’s also an opportunity to develop a Trust and IHT offering.

  • Work closely with the Partners and Directors to support advisory projects such as group restructures, demergers, and refinancing
  • Prepare and review complex corporate tax computations and returns
  • Advise clients on capital allowances, including large-scale property and infrastructure claims
  • Liaise with HMRC and external stakeholders on technical matters
  • Support managers and partners in delivering bespoke tax planning strategies
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal technical training
What you'll need to succeed

  • ATT/ACCA/ACA qualified (or equivalent)
  • You should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience providing personal and corporate tax compliance and/or advisory services to SME clients.
  • Good technical knowledge of group tax issues, capital allowances, and restructuring
  • Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills
  • A proactive, analytical thinker who thrives in a collaborative environment

What you'll get in return

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious individual to deepen their higher-end technical tax expertise in a friendly, collaborative and flexible working environment. You have the choice of a 35 or a 37.5-hour week, free parking on-site, flexible working hours and the opportunity to work from home when needed. Should you wish to pursue further qualifications, such as the CTA, full study support will be provided.
