I am currently working with a Top 20 London-based accountancy firm seeking a tax senior to join their growing personal tax team working on a diverse portfolio of clients. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent client-facing skills and previous experience within a personal tax role. You will work closely alongside the tax partners, contributing to the continued growth and reputation of the personal tax team.
Your new role :
- Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, including high-net worth individuals, sole traders, trusts & estates and landlords
- Prepare and review personal tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions
- Identify tax saving opportunities
- Assist with ad hoc advisory projects, such as residency and domicile matters, capital gains tax calculations, inheritance tax consideration and tax efficient structuring
- Conduct technical research and prepare clear summaries for internal use
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing clear explanations and maintaining strong professional relationships
- Review work by junior staff
What you'll need to succeed :
- Strong experience in personal tax compliance, ideally within a mid‑tier or large accountancy practice
- ATT qualified or part‑qualified; a CTA qualification (or intention to study) is highly advantageous
- Solid understanding of UK personal tax legislation and HMRC processes
- Ability to manage a varied portfolio and meet deadlines under pressure
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Exposure to a wide range of clients and complex tax matters
- Support for professional qualifications and ongoing CPD
