Finance Manager | Rotherham | Perm

Your new company

Hays Finance are partnering with a public sector organisation who are looking to add a permanent Finance Manager to their team.


Your new role

As Finance Manager, you will be joining an extremely ambitious organisation who are looking for an outstanding individual and a highly-skilled professional. That can spearhead the growth and development of the organisation.


Main responsibilities include:

  • Support the COO in the management of financial operations within the wider organisation and individual sites
  • To work with individual business managers to set standards and set best practice and knowledge of finance, policies and procedures.
  • Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders to for the best financial results as well as social value
  • Support the executive team, leadership team and central team in maintaining an inclusive culture
  • Role model integrity and commitment to the vision, values and this to the organisation
  • Support with the development of systems and procedures to ensure efficient, effective and accurate management of finance
  • Assist the COO with the collation of the informant or other external returns
  • Responsibility for budgeting & forecasting
  • Use the agreed budget to actively monitor and control performance to achieve the best value
  • Undertaking month-end reconciliations


What you'll need to succeed

  • An accountancy degree or qualification would be advantageous (CIPFA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA, AAT)
  • Ideally, experience of working within a public sector, charity or not-for-profit organisation, but other industry sectors will be considered
  • Experience of using financial and other ICT packages
  • Good working knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
