Support Worker needed in Cheltenham

Your new company

You’ll be joining a supportive and client-focused organisation based in Cheltenham, committed to helping vulnerable individuals live independently. The team works collaboratively with local authorities, housing officers, and charities to deliver high-quality support services.

Your new role

As a Support Worker, you’ll provide practical and emotional support to clients using a holistic, person-centred approach. You’ll help clients maintain their tenancies, develop life skills, and access services that promote wellbeing. The role involves lone working and regular collaboration with internal and external partners.

- Delivering person-centred support tailored to each client’s emotional and practical needs.
- Assisting clients in maintaining their tenancies and navigating housing-related challenges.
- Supporting clients with budgeting, daily routines, and accessing community resources.
- Conducting thorough needs and risk assessments and developing robust support plans.
- Collaborating with housing officers, project coordinators, and external agencies to ensure holistic care.
- Encouraging clients to make positive lifestyle changes and engage with support services.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and updating Housing Outcome Stars quarterly.
- Promoting safeguarding practices and reporting incidents, accidents, or near misses appropriately.
- Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to service reviews and audits.
- Supporting clients during their transition out of the service, including move-on planning with local authorities and charities.

What you'll need to succeed
Experience in a support worker role is ideal, but we also welcome applications from individuals with transferable skills who are passionate about making a difference. Strong communication and IT skills are essential, along with a good understanding of safeguarding practices. The ability to work independently and travel locally is important, and access to a car with business insurance is desirable. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about supporting vulnerable people and helping them achieve greater independence.
