We are currently in need of experienced Support Workers who are located in the Sandwell area or are willing to travel. This is to pick up weekly shifts on an ad-hoc basis at an adult's residential home who provide care and support to young people with mental health conditions, physical or learning disabilities as well as elderly service users who require dementia care or are on end of life. You will need to combine your professional experience and skills to ensure the service users' personal needs and requirements are met. Responsibilities include providing personal care, day to day support, promoting independence, assisting with food and liquid intake, domestic duties.
We are ideally looking for candidates who are flexible and looking for full-time hours with the benefit of being able to pick and choose what shifts you want to cover. Shifts include mornings, afternoons, and long days, and you must be willing to work on weekends.
Criteria:
- At least 6 months experience within a Social Care role
- Previous adult’s Social Care experience
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care is essential
- Enhanced DBS with adult's barred list (Hays can request a new DBS)
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures
- Experience providing dementia care
- A passion for caring for individuals and making an impact on people's lives
