Hays Education are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support secondary schools across North London.
Working in partnership with a number of successful secondary schools and academies, we are recruiting Teaching Assistants to provide classroom, academic and pastoral support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with some opportunities extending into Key Stage 5.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants, graduates considering a career in education, or individuals with experience supporting young people who are looking to make a positive impact in schools.
Your new role
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support students in lessons across a range of subject areas
- Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging learning experiences
- Provide one-to-one and small group intervention support
- Assist students with varying learning needs to access the curriculum
- Promote positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
- Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Support students' academic progress and personal development
Opportunities are available on a daily supply, short-term, long-term and permanent basis.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience working with young people in a school, tutoring, mentoring, coaching or youth work setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Patient, adaptable and proactive approach
- Passion for supporting young people and their educational development
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
A degree is desirable but not essential.
