Supply Teaching Assistant, Primary Schools – Sefton

Supply Teaching Assistant – Primary Schools (Nursery–Year 6), Sefton – ASAP Start

We are seeking flexible, enthusiastic Supply Teaching Assistants to support a range of primary schools across Sefton, covering year groups from Nursery through to Year 6. This is an excellent opportunity for TAs who enjoy variety, thrive in new environments, and are available for immediate work.

Role Responsibilities
  • Provide classroom support across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 as required.
  • Work with pupils 1:1, in small groups, or supporting the whole class.
  • Assist with classroom routines, behaviour management, and learning activities.
  • Support children with SEN where needed, including communication, emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Help maintain a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment.

Experience Needed
  • Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting.
  • Confidence supporting a range of ages (Nursery–Year 6).
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN (desirable).
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different school settings and routines.
  • Strong communication skills and a supportive, positive approach.

Qualifications
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (CACHE/NCFE or equivalent). [uk.news.yahoo.com
  • GCSE English & Maths (or equivalent).
  • A ‘full and relevant’ Level 2/3 Early Years qualification if supported within EYFS ratios.
