Are you an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful impact in a child’s life?
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Westminster is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a non-verbal autistic pupil in Year 6.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work 1:1 with a child who benefits from a calm, structured environment and regular sensory or movement breaks outside the classroom.

As a 1:1 SEN TA, you will:
- Provide consistent, tailored support to a non-verbal pupil with autism
- Implement strategies to support communication, emotional regulation, and engagement
- Facilitate regular breaks and sensory activities to help the pupil manage transitions and remain focused
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to deliver an individualised support plan
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience supporting children with autism, ideally in KS2
- Understanding of non-verbal communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton, visual timetables)
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
