SEN Teaching Assistant – Year 1

Location: Lambeth Full-time | Immediate Start | Long-term with potential for permanent Salary: £100 - £110 per day (depending on experience)

Are you a compassionate and proactive Teaching Assistant with experience of supporting children with special educational needs? A vibrant and inclusive primary school in Lambeth is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 1 on a 1:1 basis.

As a Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 support for a child with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and develop socially and emotionally.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored support strategies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor progress and contribute to reviews and planning meetings.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.

What You’ll Need to Succeed
  • Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in a primary school setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for helping children thrive.
  • A valid DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
