Hays is currently recruiting dedicated and motivated Supply Teachers to support our well-established network of schools. We work with over 80% of secondary schools across the Sheffield area and provide a variety of staffing solutions, including day-to-day cover, long-term roles and permanent placements.
Your New Role
Supply Teachers are essential to keeping schools running smoothly, stepping in to provide subject-specific or general cover when regular teachers are unavailable. Assignments can vary in length, and many temporary roles can lead to long-term or permanent positions. Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering engaging, high-quality lessons across a range of subjects and year groups.
- Following school curriculum plans to ensure consistency in students’ learning.
- Managing classroom behaviour and fostering a positive, productive environment.
- Recording and sharing feedback on student progress with school staff.
- Demonstrating adaptability and confidence across different schools and teaching styles.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
- Previous teaching and classroom management experience.
- Strong communication, organisation and behaviour-management skills.
- A commitment to professional standards and supporting student development.
