Supply chain manager

Hays recruitment are currently recruiting for a supply chain manager for our client based in Northfleet for a full-time, office-based permanent position.

Monday to Friday
8am till 5pm

Salary
£55,000 - £60,000 plus bonus

About the Company

My client is a specialist distributor supplying the construction and mechanical & electrical sectors with fixings, support systems, containment, tools and related products across the UK. Operating from their Northfleet HQ, they are known for:

With continued growth and a global supplier base, my client is investing heavily in strengthening its supply chain and planning capability.

The Role: Supply Chain Manager

You will take full ownership of end‑to‑end supply chain planning, including:

  • Leading the monthly S&OP process
  • Building short‑, medium‑ and long‑term demand forecasts
  • Managing global suppliers and international imports
  • Overseeing inventory across multiple UK locations, including a 3PL
  • Driving continuous improvement in systems, processes and data
  • Leading a team of three (Buyer, Supply Chain Assistant, Purchasing Administrator)
This role reports into the Operations Director and plays a key part in ensuring my client delivers high availability, optimised stock levels and best‑in‑class supplier performance.

  • Strong experience in demand & supply planning
  • Background in a UK distribution or construction/M&E supply environment
  • Knowledge of international sourcing & import processes
  • Confident with ERP/MRP systems & advanced Excel
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication
  • A proactive, hands‑on leader who drives improvement
