Drive procurement strategy and supplier success – hybrid role, public sector focus, up to £45,390

Your new role
We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Procurement and Supply Chain Manager to lead procurement activity across a diverse and purpose-driven organisation. This is a key leadership role within Group Shared Services, responsible for delivering value for money, managing supplier relationships, and driving procurement strategy across housing, care, and charitable services.

You’ll oversee procurement operations for multiple departments, including support for care sites and social housing, while managing two direct reports. From contract negotiation and supplier performance to cost analysis and compliance with the Procurement Act, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring procurement excellence and operational efficiency.

This hybrid role is based in North Yorkshire, with just 1–2 days per week required in the office, offering the flexibility to balance strategic leadership with hands-on delivery.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Proven experience in procurement and contract management, ideally in a complex or public sector environment.
  • A strong understanding of procurement legislation, compliance, and best practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team, with excellent mentoring and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • MCIPS or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Experience delivering cost savings, managing supplier relationships, and driving procurement strategy.
  • Proficiency in procurement systems and tools, with strong analytical skills to identify trends and opportunities.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach with the ability to influence across departments and deliver results.

What you'll get in return
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in a values-led organisation that champions trust, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

  • Competitive salary up to £45,390 per annum.
  • Hybrid working with flexibility and autonomy (1–2 days per week in the office).
  • A chance to lead procurement across a varied and meaningful portfolio.
  • A supportive culture that values innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • The opportunity to shape procurement practices that deliver social value and long-term impact.
