Corporate Contracts Manager in the Public Sector

Your new company

We are currently working with a Public Sector organisation to help recruit a Contracts Manager to join their Strategic Procurement team. They help to deliver public services across the local area, making a positive impact on the community and lives of the residents.

Your new role

Reporting into the Head of Procurement, you'll be leading the organisation's approach to the procurement of goods, works & services efficiently within the complex regulatory environment of public sector procurement.

You'll manage and govern a portfolio of corporate contracts to help gain increased value from suppliers, mitigate risk and control the overall spend. You'll be acting as the Council's lead contract management professional and make a significant impact on a range of services by influencing, shaping and challenging at senior level to ensure that relevant regulations, best practices and policies are taken into account.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A relevant degree or procurement & supply chain qualification (CIPS Level 6)
  • A broad understanding of the public sector procurement and Public Contract Regulations 2015
  • Experience working closely with and advising Senior Leadership
  • Confident communication and negotiation skills, with a focus on building strong corporate supplier relationships and the management thereof
  • Contract management experience within the public sector
  • Experience developing and reviewing organisational contract management strategy and related frameworks & policies
  • Previous experience of line management is desirable
