A Mechanical Supervisor needed ASAP at HMP Highpoint Prison.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Mechanical Supervisor to oversee mechanical and plumbing operations at HMP Highpoint. This is a hands-on supervisory role requiring strong leadership, excellent time management, and the ability to coordinate a small team within a secure environment.

- Location: HMP Highpoint Prison, Suffolk
- Contract Type: Temporary (3 months)
- Start Date: Immediate
- Working Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 08:00 – 17:00 & Friday: 08:00 – 16:00
- Hourly Rate: £26.97 (Premium Rate)
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage daily mechanical and plumbing activities
- Lead and support a team of operatives on-site
- Prioritise workloads and delegate tasks effectively
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and prison protocols
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Liaise with prison facilities management and external contractors
- Utilise Microsoft Office to produce reports, schedules, and updates
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing
- SSSTS Certification
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Demonstrable experience in mechanical supervision
- Strong organisational and leadership abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
