Maintenance Supervisor, Facilities supervisor, commissioning supervisor

Your new company

Hays is currently working with a commercial client based in Berkshire, Slough. We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Maintenance/Commissioning Supervisor to lead their maintenance team during the commissioning and operational readiness of facilities. This role ensures all systems are fully functional, compliant, and ready for handover to regular operations.

Your new role

  • Develop and implement commissioning plans for new or renovated facilities.
  • Supervise testing and validation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), HVAC, and safety systems.
  • Ensure systems meet design specifications and operational requirements before handover.
  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and club management to resolve commissioning issues.
  • Establish and document preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to verify system readiness and compliance.
  • Supervise and train maintenance staff on new systems and equipment.
  • Assign tasks and monitor progress during commissioning and early operational phases.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to align commissioning goals and report progress.
  • Prepare detailed commissioning reports and operational manuals.
  • Support the transition from commissioning to regular operations

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in commissioning and maintenance supervision.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
  • Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to lead and train a team effectively.
  • Familiarity with private club standards and luxury hospitality environments is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications in facilities management, or commissioning preferred.
